Health Testing Transparency
We believe in complete transparency about the health of our breeding dogs. Every active breeding dog undergoes comprehensive health testing.
Why Health Testing Matters
Health testing is the foundation of responsible breeding. It helps ensure healthy puppies and reduces the risk of genetic diseases being passed to future generations.
OFA Hips
The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals evaluates hip joint conformation through X-rays. Ratings range from Excellent to Severe Dysplasia. We only breed dogs with Fair, Good, or Excellent hips to minimize the risk of hip dysplasia in puppies.
OFA Elbows
Similar to hip evaluation, OFA elbow testing screens for elbow dysplasia โ a painful condition that can cause lameness. Dogs are rated Normal (Negative) or affected. All our breeding dogs must be clear of elbow dysplasia.
OFA Eyes (CAER)
Annual eye exams by a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist screen for hereditary eye diseases like progressive retinal atrophy (PRA), cataracts, and other conditions. "Normal" means no heritable eye disease was detected.
Von Willebrand's Disease
A DNA test that screens for a blood clotting disorder. "Clear" means the dog does not carry the gene for Von Willebrand's disease and cannot pass it to offspring.
EIC (Exercise-Induced Collapse)
A genetic test for a condition where dogs experience muscle weakness and collapse during intense exercise. "Clear" means the dog does not carry the EIC gene.
DNA Profile
A complete DNA profile verifies parentage and breed authenticity. "Complete" means the dog has been fully DNA profiled, ensuring accurate pedigree records and breed integrity.

Our Commitment to ALAA Standards
As a registered member of the Australian Labradoodle Association of America (ALAA), we adhere to the highest breeding standards in the industry.
ALAA requires that all breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health testing before they are approved for breeding. This includes OFA hip and elbow evaluations, annual eye exams, and genetic screening for breed-specific conditions.
Our ALAA membership number is ALAA-005340-0817, and we hold Silver Paw Breeder status โ a recognition of our commitment to breed improvement, health testing, and ethical breeding practices.
We invest thousands of dollars in health testing because we believe every family deserves a healthy, happy puppy. This is not an expense โ it's a promise.
